No Substitutes. J.R. Cash, The Great American Poet
Today, I have one inspiration: The Fabulous Johnny Cash.
Pickin' Time
circa (1958)
I got cotton in the bottom land
It's up and growin' and I got a good stand
My good wife and them kids of mine
Gonna get new shoes, come Pickin' Time
Get new shoes come Pickin' Time.
Ev'ry night when I go to bed
I thank the Lord that my kids are fed
They live on beans eight days and nine
But I get 'em fat come Pickin' Time
Get 'em fat come come Pickin' Time.
The corn is yellow and the beans are high
The sun is hot in the summer sky
The work is hard til layin' by
Layin' by til Pickin' Time
Layin' by til Pickin' Time.
It's hard to see by the coal-oil light
And I turn it off purty early at night
'Cause a jug of coal-oil costs a dime
But I stay up late come Pickin' Time
Stay up late come Pickin' Time.
My old wagon barely gets me to town
I patched the wheels and I watered 'em down
Keep her in shape so she'll be fine
To haul my cotton come Pickin' Time
Haul my cotton come Pickin' Time.
Last Sunday mornin' when they passed the hat
It was still nearly empty back where I sat
But the preacher smiled and said that's fine
The Lord'll wait til Pickin' Time
The Lord'll wait til Pickin' Time.

Stats. Interesting
See Graphic Attack! Before It's Over and Out!!
I couldn't cop photo's until the Bay to Breakers this morning.
Had to wade through all the drunken debauchery.
But Seriously.
See the show.
It's curated by some really heavy hitter art gals: Brooklyn gallery driver Melissa Mc Craig Welles and NYC's super ridiculously uber-skilled Andrea Von Bujdoss.
(that's her piece to the right of Cope's..) mad murderous.
1AM is a killer gallery.
And not to mention their staff is MAD NICE!
I attached a flick from someone piecing outside from 2009, on the raccoon piece....

Cope2 Interview in Juxtapoz, May 2010
Okie doke, like I told you all back on Cinco De Mayo, Cope2 is dope.
And, it looks like over the past few days he's been up to was' good in SF.
(the timing is a bit haunting...) Imagine my surprise to see this tag splash as I was on my way with Son & family to the De Young for an event Friday night 5/14.....the interview with dude just popped up from Juxtapoz on Thursday!
And I had to see all the Plasma stuff and Mike Giant collab stuff in the Tenderloin/Market area...
I just wanted to jump out the car right there and snap photo after photo of all the illness!!!!
But sometime it's gotta be about the fam.'
No hope for Saturday photo shooting either with Peter Pan on tap....
hmmmmm.
It's ok. I'll get graf shots before the weekend is over...and play more guitar.
Some live performance is coming up in the next few weeks- an acoustic version of an Arboreal remix.
Hip hop is alive and well.
So bust the Cope & Fairey collab flick: the Bronx from the Juxtapoz May 2010 online interview Pt.2
It could be set to be like a MAD summer yo.

New Music for Tin Tin is Ready To Go!
Yup. John Williams, the 78 year old insatiable composing machine associated with the Boston Pops Orchestra, has delivered to goods to a one Mr. Steven Spielberg according to the good folks at Tintin.com.
We're pretty stoked on the whole thing, seeing as we've got children's music podcasts in the que beginning this summer. Can you imagine it? Well, of course you can, as only we do with interviews, excerpts, and candid opinions on what's cruising below the radar in the world of wee...

Emetic Landscape is Coming to Town!
Well, that's not ENTIRELY true. One half of us will be in NYC- that would be a one DJ Monte Carlo. But the other half, yours truly, will be at Lafayette Elementary School on Cinco De Mayo to celebrate their new status as West Oakland Musical Academy at Lafayette in 2010-2011. Sooooo, it looks like you get to hear a little of the emcee known as BWLP live in new merch'and belting out a 3 track set. One a cappella, one acoustic, and one electronic cut to close it out.
In the immortal words of Mr. Don Cornelius,
"You can bet your last money, it's gonna be a STONE GAS HONEY...
PEACE AND SOUUUUUUUUUUUL!"
