I Hella (Heart) Oakland.

Local Artist and Freaky Cartographer, Jess Anthony set things off at Smokey's Tangle last night. Employing musician chums and all around heavy-hittin' guitar juggernauts Mike Hamm and Quinn DeVeaux to set the ambiance.

BOTH of these gentlemen are KICK-A$$ singer-songwriter-guitarists. Check out DeVeaux and his band here... and catch Mike Hamm's melodic ensemble, at the next Free Friday's De Young Museum happening September 9th.

Folks came in off the street to enjoy wine, cheese, a part organic - part textile - part robot - postcard machine, and a back room of art where Kitty Oakland t-shirts are found for purchase

(my personal favorite, soooo rad.)

Serendipitous and fortuitous happenstance put me in the place to be last night, reminding me why Oakland, well,... is pretty freaking awesome.

(just another angelic reminder...)

Gonna see the A's play the Mariners today with Part-Two.

And now,.... if we could only do something about those Raiders!!
Let's GO OAKLAND!!!
