East Coast West Coast Graf Tribute
Stan is the man key speakin' on a tribute piece last month for NY writer IZ.
Damn, I love the Bay.
-b.p.p.
p.s. and all I was doing was putting together a syllabus for my teen summer reading group on a history of bay area graffiti..and i came across this. it certainly was cool catching some shots of the legends in this one. true that graf is still moving.
p.s.s. big ups to crayone for posting this to spread the knowledge. DO it too and check out his site in the Got To Be There Section for the upcoming Zulu BBQ in the Park in SF this August!

BWLP August 2009 Podacast
The August, 2009 edition of Birds Who Like Pomegranate Mixed Media Music Magazine hones in on love.
As in: take off your shoes when you come in the house knowing the last supper is hanging in the front room colored by the comforting scent of adobo translating the vibe.
As in: the familiarity of the 3 foot tall rice dispenser in the kitchen, love.
As in: the joy of feeling at the top of ones game, hands clasped around your instrument- backstage, only to go on later live. Feeling like you were born to do it.
Bone up on your Tagalog for a few tracks. Oakland, San Leandro, San Diego, Las Vegas, Pilipino, and Mogadishu (and Berkeley, of course) is in the house.
We can't forget to mention our new favorite artist, the stratospheric Gwendolyn Bunn.
On Friday, July 31st, catch us on the web via a few portals:
birdswholikepomegranate.blogspot.com
doiseauxrecordings.podomatic.com, or on
www.myspace.com/hiphopmakenice.
Go somewhere with your hip hop.
Learn something new.
I’m b.phlecksi parmella, one half of BWLP, for Birds Who Like Pomegranate Mixed Media Music Magazine.
And with regards to dj frank niao, “bob your head to what he’s doing.”
